It has become a popular destination for those looking for an exotic getaway. But there is much more to the Maldives than just beaches; the capital city of Male offers its unique attractions. Here are seven places that you should visit when you’re in Male.

  1. The National Museum

This museum houses some of the most important artifacts from the early days of Maldivian history and culture. With over 5000 items, visitors can learn about the country’s past through these exhibits. Check out the Islamic gallery, which has articles dating back to 1250 AD!

2. Sultan Park

Located in the heart of Male, this park was built in 1752 by Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar I as a place for his people to relax and enjoy nature. Today is one of the best spots in town for taking pictures or enjoying a picnic lunch with friends and family.

It also has excellent views across Male Harbor, so make sure you stop by here if you have time!
